Word cloud of the book I'm working on... (Moriah)

It's called "Alone by choice"
I might post a chapter here in a couple weeks... In the meanwhile... I have to get back to typing what has been written in months past! :-)

Wow... (Moriah)

Okay, So I recently rediscovered blogging, and I decided to go through all me old posts. I know I'm not amazing at writing now, but I do know I've gotten much better in the last 2 years. Hopefully, you'll be seeing a lot of short stories and vignettes from me as I prepare for nanowrimo this year. But before I get onto this years stuff, I found last year's nanonotebook, so I'll also be posting some from that. Anyway, blogosphere, have a great day, and I hope to see you again soon!

footprints in the snow (Moriah)

I pull on my boots and run outside. I need to get out of this madhouse.
As I step in unmarked snow, I feel connected with
nature's God. Because nature's God is also my God.
The snow I step through sparkles in the sunight, praising
it's creator through beauty. I take a deep breath, and lean against
the bare snow covered tree, looking at rabbit tracks.
I want to freeze this moment forever...

But then she comes out and calls me in for lunch. I'll survive until
next time...

The sounds from downstairs... (Moriah)

As I lay down and close my eyes, I
truly feel alone. Everyone is downstairs,
I hear them talking and laughing,
but I am alone with my thoughts and my God.
When I begin thinking my thoughts and
dreaming my dreams, I feel the sounds
from downstairs melt into the space beyond
infinity. And after these few moments of
bliss, I open my eyes. And the sounds from down stairs come slowly floating back...

A few haiku (Moriah)

Just a few haiku of the I've written recently:
December 29, 2009
The Moon is shining
off the white snow
I'm drinking chocolate

December 31, 2009
With ruler and pen
My father
tells me I'm taller

January 1, 2010
I look in my dresser
It's all full of clothes
but I can't decide

March 3, 2010
A train
blocking my view
of a gray sky

Thanks for reading!

The Forgotten Realm of Blog

Long ago two maidens began on a quest to form a thriving kingdom, and they named it Blog. They had a very common and sad combination of personality traits, however: Idealism and Easily Distractedism. This meant their quest would be doomed to fail.

They plowed the fields, they built roads, they gathered followers to populate their kingdom, they made speeches often, the sun shone and all was well. Then they stopped making speeches. The roads fell into disrepair. The fields became overgrown with weeds. The people wandered away, and the two maidens sometimes forgot they'd ever had a dream of a kingdom.

But dreams, once acted upon, may not be entirely lost, though they are utterly forgotten.

Still we fight on

This is a poem that my sister, Elsie, and I wrote:

The wind blows icily
the broken satellite shines
afar off, a woman yells
Yet we fight on

Our old tree creaks
a branch breaks off
the birds protest
Yet we fight on

The church bell tolls
we gather in
so many gone
Yet we fight on

The wind blows icily
The broken satellite shines
afar off, a woman yells
Still we fight on for Jesus
